Bird mites, as the name suggests, are tiny mites that commonly plague birds. Look cautiously and you'll probably observe them close to where birds live. They are extremely little and leveled parasitic arthropods in the order Acari. They belong to two firmly related genera in two families; Dermanyssus species in Dermanyssidae, and Ornithonyssus species in Macronyssidae.
